Brook Murchison Block
This interesting project demanded both structural and technical innovation from the Buttcon Team, our approach received the Toronto Historical Board's 'stamp of approval". This downtown Toronto, historical five storey structure required a dramatic transformation to met the stringent requirements for Class A offices with street level retail element, the design reached back to grassroots for architectural inspiration. Buttcon faced many challenges in perserving the historic style of the building, including the original unsafe and unstable walls lacking adequate support. Buttcon's solution included reinforcing the structure with underpinnings and the installation of caissons. This project was completed on time and within the owner's budget.
