Description:

The project consisted of a major renovation to an existing complex owned by the City of Toronto. The complex includes three building structures known as Buildings A, B and C. The buildings and site were occupied and operational during construction.  The project included the renovation and construction of two Data Halls (within Buildings A and B) and an office modernization in Building B to accommodate daily operational training and office environment for about 100 staff members. The existing parking was also re-configured to increase parking spaces.  The works of this project were executed according to a strategy devised to ensure continuity of operation of the existing Data Centre and to also minimize disruption to occupants and cost to the project. Temporary power and cooling arrangements were required during some stages of the implementation. Coordination with Toronto Hydro and City’s other resources (Corporate IT, Facilities Management, Security, etc.) was also paramount.
