Buttcon, in joint venture with EBC, successfully delivered a new Operations Centre and Warehouse for Hydro One Networks Inc. in Orillia, Ontario. The project involved the construction of two one-storey facilities located on adjacent properties, purpose-built to support Hydro One’s operational requirements.
Both buildings were constructed as conventional steel-framed structures and feature high-efficiency insulated metal panel envelopes and a two-ply, hot-applied built-up roof system. The facilities were outfitted with high-efficiency mechanical systems, energy-efficient LED lighting, and comprehensive wireless internet coverage.
Additional features include a centralized Building Automation System (BAS), access control and CCTV systems, and a natural gas generator providing reliable backup power. Completed to current industry, regulatory, safety, and operational standards, these state-of-the-art facilities now fully support Hydro One’s day-to-day operations.
