Construction Complete: Celebrating the New John Snake Outdoor Event Pavilion

We’re proud to announce that construction is now complete on the new John Snake Outdoor Event Pavilion — a collaborative achievement by the Chippewas of Rama First Nation and Buttcon Limited. This beautiful 2400-square-foot post-and-beam structure now stands at the John Snake Memorial Multi-Purpose Grounds, ready to welcome the community.

We marked this milestone with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 19, surrounded by partners, supporters, and community members. Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to this meaningful project.

The Pavilion opens just in time for the Chippewas of Rama First Nation’s 40th Annual Powwow, taking place August 23–24. It will serve as a vibrant space for Indigenous events, ceremonies, and educational activities — a place that fosters connection, celebrates heritage, and inspires future generations.

A heartfelt miigwech to our sponsors, donors, and all who helped bring this vision to life. Your support has created a lasting legacy of cultural preservation and community pride.
