Description: The Windsor Energy Centre (WEC) is a 44 megawatt facility providing a combination of electricity and thermal energy. The WEC is an interposing utility, district energy centre, cogeneration plants and a merchant market independent power producer designed to service the needs of downtown Windsor’s core and the Ontario power grid. This is the first facility of its kind in Ontario located in a city centre.  The Windsor Energy Centre is an environmentally efficient facility that produces reliable, affordable and clean green energy to the Windsor area.  In addition to the on-site operators, all systems can be remotely managed via blackberry’s web applications and web browsers. The energy centre was constructed on top of the existing Windsor Casino multi-story parking structure, which remained in full operation during the construction of this facility.
